Joining Information

How to Apply?

If you want to apply to join any AFP program/activity then please Download our course application form and send it back with Rs.250 as application fee.

Refund Policy

  • If you cancel your reservation 15 days or more before the start of your course all tuition payments will be refunded except Rs. 250/- registration deposit.

  • If the notice of cancellation is received at any period of less than 15 days, 80% of the tuition fee less the registration deposit is refundable. If you voluntarily withdraw from a course after if begins or do not show up for the course, there will be no refund of any payments. However, this does not apply to withdraw during the course for reasons beyond your control. In such a case the refund will be on pro rata basis.

Joining Instructions

  • On acceptance of your application you will receive a set of joining instructions which will cover all pre-course information and will require action on your part as Indicated therein.

Age

As prescribed for each grouping.

Fitness

Medical fitness certificate (part of joining instructions) will be endorsed by a Doctor and dispatched by you to the appropriate centre.

Experience and Qualifications

Some outdoor experience is useful but not essential. A knowledge of English language is preferred.

Clothing and Equipment

Requisite equipment for each course is provided. Trainees should bring with them items of personal clothing and footwear indicated in the joining instructions. Equipment damaged or lost during the course due to misuse or neglect by the trainee will be charged to the trainee.

Pre-Course Training

Special care will be taken to provide pre-course training to tune the body and also to acclimatize where necessary.

Selection

Open to all on first come first served basis. Courses requiring special selection procedure would be notified.

Sponsorship

Sponsorships are encouraged at all levels.

Financial Aid

Some financial aid may be considered if applied for on the form on the reverse side of the application form. Grant of financial aid will be on first come first served basis up to the limit of funds available for the purpose.

Railway concessions

Group of five or above members of the Foundation may avail railway travel concession up to 50% by application.

Mode of Payment

Payments may be made by cash, MO, Bank draft or Cheque drawn in favour of Director Adventure Training Centre, Kakul. In case of cheque please add Rs. 50/- for bank charges.

Insurance

Insurance is provided to all participants to cover against personal accidents, injury or loss of personal effects.

Guides and Instructors

All courses are conducted under the guidance and instructions of experienced Wilderness counselors and instructors.

Safety

Full safety measures are strictly followed at all times in accordance with the laid down safety rules and procedures.

Medical Cover

Medical Cover is provided by the Foundation.

Termination

Trainee(s) may be taken off the course on the following counts:

  1. Indiscipline
  2. Late arrival
  3. Any other act committed against the community, code of ethics or contrary to the aims and objectives of the Foundation.
