    Other Efforts by Adventure Foundation

    • AFP is regularly organizing training of Liaison Officers and mountain guides on environmentally friendly mountaineering with collaboration of Mountain Wilderness International.

    • AFP has produced an information brochure for environment friendly trekking in Urdu and English. It aims are to increase awareness and to promote "Green trekking" by listing ways in which people can minimize their impact on environment.

    • AFP has organized following mountain clean up expeditions during the last eight years.

    • Lake Saiful Muluk clean up Expedition 1991. A 12 members team led by Aftab Rana collected and brought back 400 Kgs of waste material from the surroundings of Lake Saiful Muluk.

    • 2nd Lake Saiful Muluk cleanup Expedition 1992. A 27 members team led by Aftab Rana collected and brought back 900 Kgs of waste material.

    • Kaghan Valley Friendship Mission 1993. A 36 members teams led by Aftab Rana collected and brought back 450 Kgs of waste material and also install 25 fuel efficient stoves in a village near Naran. They also planted 600 sapling of Blue pine and Deodar at Soch.

    • K-2 Base Camp and Concordia Clean up Expedition 1995. A 6 members team led by Afzal Sherazee brought down 500 Kgs of tins/scrap to Skardu for disposal.

    • Nanga Parbat Clean up Expedition 1995. A 9 members teams led by Aftab Rana cleaned the Fairy Meadows and Rupal base camp and brought back 520 Kgs of waste material to Gilgat for disposal.

    • Masherbrum clean up Expedition 1996. A team of 20 students of Monmouth school, UK led by Rev. Norman Morris successful completed the clean up of Masherbrum base camp by collecting 200 Kgs of rubbish and cleaning out the base camp water supply.

    • Pak-New Zealand K-2 Concordia Clean Mountain Expedition '97. A team of 10 Pakistani youth and 10 N.Z. boys and girls led by Habib Ullah Mughal collected and brought back more then 1000 Kgs of waster material from the base camp of K-2 and Concordia trail camps. They also organized and awareness walk in Skurdu on their way back.

    • K-2 concordia clean up expedition: A team of 30 members from U.K. and four Pakistani youngsters led by Rev. Norman collected 300 kg of waste material from various camping sites on Baltoro glacier and organized an awareness walk in Skardu.

    • Number of articles written by the members of AFP have been published in various magazines and newspapers as part of our awareness campaign about environment friendly adventure tourism in Pakistan.
